AMERICA’S GREAT LOOP JOURNEY 2025 – Let the good waves roll!

Jeff and I are SO very happy to be back on our Loop! We’ve spent yet another fun & fabulous winter with family and friends in Florida, but now it’s time to pivot into our “Other Life” aboard our treasured Oyster. How fortunate we are to have the best of two worlds?

As you may know, last year we travailed the vast majority of the America’s Great Loop from Connecticut all the way down to our home in Florida through New York, Canada, 3 Great Lakes, and all the way down through the mid-United States river waterways, including the Mississippi! You can check out the sidebar recap of our journeys up until now to the right.

Now, look closely at the America’s Great Loop map (courtesy of the America’s Great Loop Cruiser’s Association (AGLCA) to see where we are heading. Locate the pink line running across the state of Florida, which is the Caloosahatchee River. Now follow that to the east coast and up the green line of the Atlantic coast ~ THAT’S IT!

Jeff and I will finally complete our entire approximately 7,000 mile(!) Great Loop journey in New York City Harbor by the Statue of Liberty, of course 🗽🥳. This milestone is called “Crossing Your Wake”, meaning, you finish where you began, figuratively cross your boat wake. At that point we will also earn the distinguished right to bear the AGLCA’s Gold Burgee (flag), exchanging it for our experienced, albeit tattered white one. Woohoo!

Once we finish, Jeff and I plan to explore and enjoy the northeast waters closer to our original homes, Rhode Island and Connecticut. We will then continue to travel back to Penobscot, Maine, where this amazing journey all began.

So please, be sure to join us. I plan to post new blogs on Sundays if all goes as planned. These two happy wanderers are thrilled to have you along with us for the ride through new and unchartered territory!
