MAGICAL MAINE CELEBRATIONS Blog & Vlogs

There was excitement. There was trepidation. But mostly there was pure wonder when Jeff and I had sailed away from Bucksport, Maine back in 2022 as the new owners of Oyster. At that point we simply wanted to get the feel for our new baby, and very importantly, gain some solid experience in handling her. Our modest goal then was simply to get her down to Connecticut where she would be stored for the winter. The air was already chilling down in the Maine, so we knew there wouldn’t be enough time to explore the Penobscot Bay or anything much else along this beautiful coast. It was time to get going.

Four amazing and adventure-filled years later, these two lucky newbies and Oyster were able to return Maine’s stunningly rugged and gorgeous coastline. Best of all, we also got to meet back up with Oyster’s wonderful former owner Woody and spent three magical days with him. Check out the video blog below for a peek. Such a joyous reunion!

The other truly beautiful gift was connecting too, with some very special people as part of the MTOA/ Marine Trawler Owner’s Association’s “Downeast” Cruiser’s Rendezvous . It just so happens that we were in Penobscot Bay at the same time that they’d be getting together, and that we are members. We were graciously invited into the fold to join in on the fun.
